This year, the Sutton Bank and Danby Lodge National Park Centres are 50 years old.

Both venues are offering Orienteering Trails and there is a 50th Anniversary Children’s Trails from 1st April to 5th May.

On Monday 4th May, there will be a 50th Anniversary Garden Party at Danby Lodge between 11am and 3pm.

Throughout the Spring and Summer there are guided walks – find out more here.

These walks are varied in both locations, distances and terrain so there should be something for everyone.

Grubs Up

From Saturday 16th May to Sunday 14th June there will be an exhibition: Grubs Up!

On the same day, Bridget Bailey will be offering an artist demonstration about her works.

Then on Saturday 23rd May, there will be a Victoria Bailey Artist Demonstration, then on Spring Bank Holiday Monday (25th May), you can meet Professor Toadstool and help find the Missing Red Squirrel.

If you miss this one, there is another event scheduled to take place on Saturday 15th August.

On Wednesday 27th May, the Wild Wild Question takes place at Danby Lodge and Sutton Bank National Park Centres.

Make a wire bee with Anna Roebuck on Saturday 30th May.

If you’ve ever fancied making your own peg loom rug , then there is a waving workshop on Saturday 20th June.

Summer Entertainment

Looking ahead to July, there will be a Medieval Re-Enactment and Archery event on Saturday 4th July at Danby Lodge.

Summer Art Club takes place on 23rd, 28th and 30th July and 4th and 6th August at 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.

Places for this are limited!

There will be a Producers Craft Fair on Saturday 1st August between 11am and 3pm at Danby Lodge National Park Centre.

As the summer draws to close you can enjoy Mindful on the Moor festival on Saturday 5th September 10.30am to 3.30pm and Danby Lodge National Park Centre.

On Friday 11th September, there is an introduction to frame loom weaving with Studio Mileno.

A Moors Run is set to take place on Sunday 18th October.

Other Events

In addition to the National Park events, there are scores of events being held at other venues that fall within the boundaries of the North York Moors.

These include events at Nunnington Hall, part of the National Trust.

and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

and Eden Camp

and the National Centre for Birds of Prey
