Selected Events at the Whitby Pavilion.
Love great films? Then you can catch WISH (2nd to 4th January) and Napoleon (5th to 9th January 2024).
Pantomime season is still with us in January 2024 with Hansel and Gretel taking place at the Whitby Pavilion.
Performed by the Apollo Players, you can see this production from 15th January to 20th January.
Whitby Steampunk Weekend, February 2023
In February, get ready for the first Whitby Steampunk Weekend of the Year, taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th.
This is ‘number 15’ in this celebrated event, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Other events this year that take place on a regular basis include Dippy Craft Fairs at the Whitby Pavilion.
Make sure you catch Big Time Wrestling on 18th February, and then Mean Girls from 23rd to 29th February 2024.
A Snapshot of Acts!
Events to enjoy at the Whitby Pavilion enjoy include the UK Pink Floyd Experience on 2nd March; Most Haunted on 4th March; Steve Harley on 9th April; Adult Panto Cinderella on 19th April; Sanctum Sanctorum on 27th April, and Hound of the Baskervilles on 29th April.
Other guest appearances include a Tribute to Tina Turner on 4th May; Psychic Sally on 16th May, The Real Thing on 31st May, Supersonic Queen on 15th June; and Thank Abba For the Music on 31st August, followed by G4 on 20th September.
Weekend Wonders including Whitby Goth Weekend April 2024
Of course, Whitby is famous for its weekend events, and 2024 is no exception.
For those who love star gazing, one of the first events of the year is the Dark Skies Festival, starting on 9th February and lasting until 25th February 2024.
An eagerly anticipated event, it has gone from strength to strength over the years, and 2024’s event looks to be spectacular.
Now with two events each year, Whitby Goth Weekend features a weekend of events on 26th, 27th and 28th April 2024.
Other Events in Summer 2024
Whitby’s 60s Festival takes place in June on 7th, 8th and 9th.
Whitby Regatta takes place 17th, 18th and 19th August.
Then, Folk Week takes place from 17th to 23rd August.
Soul and Motown Weekender takes place from 13th, 14th and 15th September.
Catch Clinton Baptise on 13th October, and Kevin Wilson on 7th November.
Autumn 2024
Autumn’s Whitby Goth Weekend descends in October.
Then it’s Whitby Rock weekend in November 2024.
Christmas 2024 is already ‘in the diary’ with the celebrated annual Krampus Run taking place on 7th and 8th December 2024.
National Dates
Of course, Whitby also celebrates annual events too, including Easter (Good Friday falls on 29th March); Bank Holidays in May include the early May Bank Holiday on 6th and Spring Bank on the 27th.
August Bank Holidays falls on the 26th August.
Also, 2024 is a Leap Year.
The last Leap Year we had was 2020 … what a lot has happened since then!

Whitby and its nearby area are festooned with places to visit including Whitby Abbey, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Pannett Park, the Endeavour and more.
With regular events at all these places, keep check out whats on page.
Nearby Dalby Forest also includes a great line up of live acts including Nile Rogers and CHIC on 22nd June.
Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre is also host to some fantastic acts in 2024, ranging from Rick Astley to Fatboy Slim.
Country Shows
Many of us love a country show, and for 2024, these include the Great Yorkshire Show (9th to 12th July), Egton Bridge Gooseberry Show (6th August); Danby Show on 14th August, Rosedale show on 17th August, there is lots to look forward to.
